How to change an Idea Definition

Idea definitions can be changed on the system using the following method:

Select the Idea/Initiative you would like to change the Idea Definition for.  Navigate to the Approvals of this initiative and click on the Idea Definition. When the Idea/Initiative is locked, the idea definition cannot be changed unless the idea/initiative moves back to an unlocked state.

Impact of changing an Idea's Idea Definition

After the Idea definition has been changed the Idea will automatically be subjected to the following changes.

• the idea stage will be reset to the first stage and the status reset to Active 
• all pending approvals, and approved workflows will be reset and require resubmission of the workflow

Changes to the Idea Definition that do not impact the idea will then show after changing the definition; this will show as configured on the definition at the time of the change.
